Harold Harper Jr., of Argonia, retired farmer and stockman, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at his home in Argonia at the age of 85.

    Harold Harper Jr., of Argonia, retired farmer and stockman, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at his home in Argonia at the age of 85.
    Harold was born the son of Harold T. Harper and Ruth (Bringer) Harper on
Tuesday, August 21, 1923 in Argonia.
  On Sept. 30, 1944, Harold and Dorothy Lorine Phillips were united in
marriage at Argonia. Dorothy died on July 30, 2003.
    In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, son, Lee Ray Harper and sister and brother-in-law Helen and Clayton Nafziger.
    Survivors include sons, Denny Harper of Argonia, and Phil Harper of Argonia; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a sister, Gertha Sabus of Arvada, Colo.
    Friends may call at the Day Funeral Home of Argonia from 1 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2009. The family will receive and greet friends Sunday evening.
    Funeral services for Harold will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 30,
2009 in the Argonia United Methodist Church, 307 N. Main, Argonia, KS. Rev. Don Swender of the Argonia United Methodist Church will officiate.
  Interment will follow in Argonia Cemetery, Argonia.
    A memorial has been established in his name and loving memory with the
Argonia EMT's, 122 N. Main Street, Argonia, KS 67004 and Argonia United Methodist Church, 307 N. Main, Argonia, KS 67004. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
