Lori Lynne Schindler, of Wellington, Kansas, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at her sister's residence in Attica, Kansas at the age of 49.
Lori was born the daughter of Rita A. (Chard) and Louis G. Schindler on Friday, May 4, 1962 in Plainville, Kansas.
Lori was devoted caregiver at home and work. She was employed at nursing homes and for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. She was especially gifted at caring for those with handicaps or disabilities. Lori later worked for USD 353 in Wellington as a para educator. Her caring and loving nature served her well as a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Samantha Jo Favinger of Wichita, Kansas, son, Colton LeVon Favinger of Wellington, Kansas, granddaughter, Presley Jo Ricke of Wichita, Kansas, two special nieces, Sara Favinger of Hays, Kansas, Amy Brachtenbach of Hill City, Kansas, her father, Louis Schindler of Hill City, Kansas, mother and step-father, Rita and Ron Monson of Wellington, Kansas, sisters, Lisa Inslee and her husband Scott of Attica, Kansas, LeAnna Bell of Beloit, Kansas, Bev Hessefort and her husband Scott of Kansas City, Kansas, brothers, Martin Bell and his wife Amy of Kingman, Kansas, Bo Schindler of Cawker City, Kansas along with several other nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her step-mother, Julie Schindler, late husband, Bevan Favinger and grandparents; Raymond and Vera Schindler of Stockton, Kansas and Kimber and Eldred Chard of Palco, Kansas.
Memorial services for Lori will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the First Free Will Baptist Church, 1219 North Plum, Wellington, Kansas.
A private interment will be held at a later date in the Attica (Kansas) Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Lori requested that donations be made to the Lori L. Schindler Memorial Scholarship established in her memory. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
