A tentative trial date has been set for Spencer Weikal, who is allegedly responsible for the death of a two-year old girl in Nov. 2011.
Weikal stood mute, entering a "not guilty" plea at the Sumner County Courthouse this morning (May 24). The tentative date for the trial is July 17.
The Wellington man was originally charged with First Degree Murder, Child Abuse, and Aggravated Endangerment of a Child. Charges were amended to include an alternative count of Second Degree Murder.
Weikal, 23, was arrested by local authorities at 2:21 p.m. on Nov. 30. This was several hours after the police received word that a two-year-old, Larrissa Foster, was treated at Sumner Regional Medical Center, she then transported to Wichita in critical condition, where she passed away.
