Carole N. Carter, age 83, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away early Saturday morning, November 10, 2012 at the Riverview Manor in Oxford, Kansas.
Carole N. (Bertrand) Carter was born on June 11, 1929 in Clearwater, Kansas to William M. Bertrand and Zella (Small) Bertrand. She graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1947.
Carole married David L. Carter on August 29, 1948 in Wellington, Kansas. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2011.
Carole and David spent a lifetime ministering at various churches across America.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David; her grandson, Jeffrey Carter; and two brothers, Alvin and Bill Bertrand.
She is survived by three sons, Ric Carter and his wife Nancy of Denver, Colorado, Tim Carter and his wife Diane of Monroe, Louisiana and Kerry Carter and his wife Di of Santa Fe, New Mexico; one granddaughter, Stacy Carter Pickering and her husband Robert of West Monroe, Louisiana; and one great granddaughter, Bailey Carter Pickering of West Monroe, Louisiana; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Don Bryant will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer's Association in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
