Edward LeRoy Byers, 48, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away in South Haven, Kansas.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 12th at the South Haven Christian Church in South Haven, Kansas. A memorial has been established with the South Haven Christian Church. Arrangements are with the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wellington. Edward, also known as Eddie, was born August 2, 1964 the son of LeRoy Herschel and Janith (Howell) Byers in Wellington, Kansas. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1982 and served his country in the United States Marines. Eddie was united in marriage to Michele Wood. He was self-employed doing drywall, worked on fire and water restoration and other handy man jobs. He took great pride in his work and had a natural talent for it. He cherished time with family and friends. Eddie was fun, loving, caring and always coming up with nicknames for his kids, his nieces and their kids too.
Surviving to honor his memory is his wife, Michele of Fort Collins, his parents LeRoy Byers Wellington, KS, and Janith Byers of Clinton, OK; children, Travis Byers of Fort Collins, CO, Shelby Byers of Boulder, CO and Kaylee Byers of Mio, MI; sister, Jill Mattingly of South Haven, KS and a brother, Larry Byers of Ponca City, OK; two nieces, CharLynn Kalblinger and family of Medford, OK and Chandrea Alexander and family of Jet, OK.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
