J. Lewis Franklin, of Winfield, Kansas, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his residence in Winfield, Kansas at the age of 90.
Lewis was born the son of Bruce and Auda (Lasater) Franklin on Wednesday, January 10, 1923 in rural Dade County, Missouri.
On June 30, 1958, Lewis and Donabel (Knowlton) Paris were united in marriage in Oxford, Kansas. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Mr. Franklin proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a 58 year member of the Masonic Lodge having achieved the title of Past Master Mason. He was a longtime farmer in the Oxford area.
Survivors include his son, Fred E. Paris and his wife Aritha of Oxford, Kansas, daughter, Patti Brenn and her husband Mike of Winfield, Kansas, sister, Dorothy McIntire of Wichita, Kansas, grandchildren: Brandon Paris and Weylin Paris of Oxford, Kansas, Emily Roark and her husband Patrick of Winfield, Kansas, Andrew Brenn and his wife Kylee of Winfield, Kansas, Eric Brenn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, great-grandchildren: Cameron and Caden Roark, Kody and Abbie Brenn, Veronica Moore all of Winfield, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Myrna Franklin.
Viewing will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2013.
Funeral services for Lewis will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 in the Oxford United Methodist Church, Oxford, Kansas.
Interment will follow at the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Kansas.
