Two scoreboards from the old high school, now the middle school, are up for bid.

Pieces of local nostalgia will be auctioned off in the next few days to help raise money for the Wellington After School program – they are the old scoreboards from what was the high school, now Wellington Middle School.

There will be two auctions, the first is set for Friday, Feb. 1 during the homecoming basketball games against Mulvane. The second scoreboard will be bid for on Feb. 15 during the basketball games against Clearwater at WHS.

Each scoreboard is 6' by 6.5' and weight about 125 lbs. They are being sold "as-is," and it is not known if they still light up. There are no keypads or control panels with the scoreboards.

The 50-plus-year-old scoreboards are on the auction block because the middle school recently replaced them. They will go to the highest bidders on the afore mentioned dates.
