The Lady-Crusaders are 9-4, the boys are 5-8

Lady-Crusaders win by 19

With the mid-season tournament now a thing of the past, and a bronze medal performance under their collective belt, the Wellington girls basketball team was on the road in Rose Hill on Jan. 29. The Lady-Crusaders won 51-32 for their second victory in a row.

Wellington put together a consistent offensive performance on Tuesday. They outscored the Lady-Rockets by a per-quarter average of 12.75 to eight, reaching double-digits in each period.

The Lady-Crusaders were lead offensively by Kailey Jenkins with 14 points at Rose Hill.

With the victory, the Wellington girls are 9-4 on the season.

Boys lose a close one in Rose Hill

Four points was the margin of victory in Rose Hill on Jan. 29, those four points were in favor of the home team.

The loss moves Wellington to 5-8 this season. Sophomore, Trevor Nance lead the team with 12 points on Tuesday night.

Wellington will host the Mulvane Wildcats on Friday, Feb. 1. It's homecoming at WHS, the varsity action starts at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow. The 2013 Duke will be crowned after the boys game.
