It was a long night in Andale on Friday for both Crusader basketball squads.
Girls lose by 29
The Lady-Crusaders couldn't hang with Andale on Feb. 8, the same team that handed WHS its second loss of the season in December, handed the girls their sixth loss on Friday.
Wellington was able to keep it close in the first quarter, only down by three at the start of the second.
That's when Andale's offense awoke and put up 16 points to go up 25-11 at the break. Their tear would continue in the third quarter, AHS was one point shy of doubling their point production from the first half. Wellington did double its point production but the gap wasn't narrowed. It was 49-22 to start the fourth.
Andale would go on to the 60-31 victory, knocking Wellington to 10-6 on the season.

It won't get any easier for WHS basketball. Tuesday night, Feb. 12 the teams will be on the road to Wichita Collegiate School, a team that swept the Crusaders in December.
That game is followed by a match-up at home against Clearwater, who also swept the Wellington teams earlier this season. Varsity games start at 6 p.m. at the high school. In-between game, the second old high school scoreboard will be auctioned off. The first one sold for a winning bid of $700.
