Winter weather expected all day Wednesday, through Thursday evening.

A major winter storm will spread a wide variety of wintry weather across the region today through Thu...rsday…with the heaviest precipitation likely occurring tonight through early afternoon Thursday.

A mix of ice, sleet and snow will affect south central and southeast Kansas, Oklahoma, southern Missouri and Arkansas, where ice accumulations could easily exceed one-quarter inch…with snowfall amounts of 1 to 4 inches. Ice chances will decrease further northwest, with heavy snow likely over the northwest two-thirds of Kansas and northwest Missouri…Nebraska could see snow accumulations exceed one foot.

Sub-zero wind chills are expected Thursday night through early Friday morning generally northwest of the Kansas Turnpike.

A mix of rain and snow will be possible across central and parts of south central Kansas Sunday into Monday. Light snow accumulations appear possible at this time over mainly central Kansas.
