Percival, Gale Dean, age 73, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25th, 2013.
Gale was born the son Dale and Wilma (Quinn) Percival on October 18, 1939 in Alva, Oklahoma.
Gale was employed by the BNSF Railroad and retired after 43 years of service as a brakeman, conductor, and yard master. He volunteered for many years as a coach for any sport that he could help kids with. Gale coached football, baseball and even one year as swim coach just so there could be a team.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Percival; step-father, Clayton Milledge; wife, Sharon.
Gale is survived by his mother, Wilma Milledge of Waynoka, OK; brothers Lewis Milledge and Larry Milledge both of Waynoka, OK and Ronald Milledge of Pauls Valley, OK; children, Scott Percival (Amber) of Wichita, KS; Lori Robinson (Jay) of Wellington, KS; grandchildren, Zachary Percival (Irma) of Reynosa, Mexico, Jordyn Clark (Danny) of Wellington, KS, Taryn Robinson of Wichita, KS, Devin Robinson of Wellington, KS along with 2 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2013 with the family present from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services for Gale will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 28th 2013 in the chapel of Day Funeral Home & Crematory, Wellington, KS.
A private interment for the family will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington, KS.
Memorials have been established with the Golden Living Center (Activity Fund), Wellington, KS or Rivercross Hospice, Wellington, KS. Contributions can be left with the funeral home.
