Juanita Berry, 78, of Argonia, Kan.

Argonia – Juanita Berry, 78, of 701 S. Lucky Ln, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical Center, Wellington, KS.

Juanita was born June 20, 1934 at Clear Lake, Oklahoma to Harry Homer Brennon and Rosalie Kathleen Snyder Brennon. She grew up at Clear Lake and graduated from Beaver High School in 1952. She continued her education and attended Wichita Business College where she completed a secretarial program in Wichita, KS.

Juanita was united in marriage to Dwight Edward Berry on February 13, 1955 at Beaver, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Wichita for 2 years before moving to Chula Vista, CA. A year later they returned to Kansas to farm near Norwich. They later moved to the Argonia community and built their new home at 701 Lucky Ln in 1965.

Juanita worked for the Sumner County Attorney's office for Jim Pringle and Kerwin Spencer for several years. She later joined the staff at the Bank of Commerce in Wellington in 1987 where she worked as a secretary for 16 years. Juanita retired in 2003 to help care for Dwight fighting his own battle with cancer. Dwight died one year later on January 8, 2004.

Juanita was a member of the Argonia United Methodist Church where she active in UMW, was a former member of the hand bell choir and served on the Administrative Council. She was also a foster parent for C.A.S.A. for many children.

Juanita was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother Michael Brennon and her daughter-in-law Jennifer Berry.

She is survived one son Dale Berry; one daughter Janet Etheridge and husband Terry all of Argonia, KS; three brothers: Harold Brennon of Woodward, OK; Delbert and Willard Brennon both of Beaver, OK; one sister Lena Sistrunk of Wellington, KS; four grandchildren: Steven Heyman, Natali Goertzen, Dalton Berry and Katie Etheridge.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 from the Argonia United Methodist Church, Argonia, KS with Rev. Robbie Fall, officiating. Interment was in Argonia Cemetery.
