Forrest Stalcup, 91, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away, Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, KS.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington. Burial will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2013 from 9:00 A.M., until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hawks-Shelley Funeral Home of Wellington, Kansas. Forrest Glenn Stalcup was born on October 22, 1921 the son of Arthur A. and Amy McCoy Stalcup in Cimarron, Kansas. He was a 1939 graduate of St. John High School. During World War II Forrest joined the United States Army and served his country in the European Theatre. He was united in marriage with Mildred Pickering on July 10, 1946. After the war He attended Salt City Business College and began working for the Cudahy Packing Company as a salesman in 1947 where he worked for 29 years. He later went to work for the J.L. Byler Real Estate Company before joining Stalcup Realators with his son in 1980. He managed property and began Stalcup Storage in 1981. Forrest was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington and Parliamentary Club. He was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion in Wellington and had been a member of the Wellington Lions Club since 1947.

Surviving to honor his memory is his son, John Stalcup and wife Ood of Wellington, granddaughter, Erika Stalcup of Hudson, Massachusetts and grandson Erik Stalcup of Cleveland, Ohio, brother Ralph Stalcup of Great Bend, Kansas and half-brother Norman Detrich of Mio, Michigan and sister-in-law Lorine Pickering of Springfield, Tennessee.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister, Marjorie Scheib and brothers, Pete, Wayne and Lawrence Stalcup and half-brother, Joe Detrich.
