  • Track: Both Wellington teams place in top ten

  • It was a solid day for the WHS girls and boys track team in Chaparral on Friday, April 5. The girls team finished fourth overall, out of 13 schools, the boys took home sixth.
    Megan Campbell, senior, continued her reign at the top of the podium in the 100 and 200 meter dash. In the 100, she ran a 12.1, in the 200 the clock stopped at 25.52.
    Jaedyn Ledesma, junior, won the 800 meters with a time of 2:39.56.
    The Lady-Crusader 4x400 relay team outran the competition with a time of 4:22.95.
    Scratching and clawing for all of their 28 points at Chaparral, the WHS boys' best finisher was Colin Reichenberger, sophomore, who took third in the 110 meter hurdles. He also took fourth in the 300 meter hurdles.
    Austin Pfalzgrapf, sophomore, also finishd fourth in the 800 meter run.
    The track team will be at Wichita State University, competing in the K.T. Woodman track meet. Then they will be at home, for the Caldwell invitational at 3 p.m. on April 16. April 19, is a meet at Clearwater, followed by the Wellington Invitational a 3:15 on April 26.
