BELLE PLAINE, Kan. – This year Belle Plaine Kansas will be celebrating the 28th year of Tulip Time on April 12, 13, & 14, in Belle Plaine Kansas. This family fun event is filled with a weekend full of fun events and activities for the young and old. This event kicks off Friday evening @ 6p.m. with various family events to include the Quality Citizen Award, a Movie Under the Stars, and the carnival.

Get a jump start on your Saturday with the Masons Pancake Feed starting at 7a.m @ the Legion Building in downtown. Then join the Opening Ceremonies @ 9:30 a.m. in downtown. Check out the classic, vintage, and unique automobiles at the Car Show beginning @10a.m. At noon the Tulip Time parade will maneuver through the streets of downtown. Don't forget to walk the paths of the century old Bartlett Arboretum to take in the beautiful colors of 40,000 blooming tulips on display and the sights of the other lively beauties of nature. Other events of the day include the arts & crafts fair, book fair, food court, fun competitive events, the carnival, on-stage entertainment "Neighborhood Riot" (a local Derby Kansas teen band), and Kansas Kountree Kloggers just to name a few. In tandem The Bartlett Arboretum will be offering Garden & Tree Trail tours along with "Art @ the Arb", which includes numerous artists and their work, and music performances throughout the day. Saturday evening, "Poultry N' Motion" will be headlining the Street Dance in downtown Belle Plaine.

We close out this fun-filled weekend on Sunday with the Masons Pancake Feed starting at 7 a.m. @ the Legion Building, a Community Worship Service will take place @ 10:30 a.m. in downtown Belle Plaine, on-stage entertainment in downtown includes Jazz for Jesus, Jamey Denison, and the Raising Faith Mime Team. The Bartlett Arboretum will be offering Garden tours and Tree Trail tours throughout the day along with various music performances. A $2.00, 2013 Tulip Time button is requested for entry to downtown events (which can be purchased at area merchants or at the informational booth that weekend), a $5 donation is requested for entry to The Bartlett Arboretum, and additional fees apply for the carnival.
