Country music fans are in for a treat at Wellington's Chisholm Trail Wild West Days. The two-day event will include a country music showcase and a West is Wild as Ever grand finale music performance.

The country music begins at noon on Saturday, April 27 at Wellington High School.

Jeff Davidson, President of the Kansas Chapter of the Western Music Association, said, "We're having our statewide showcase Saturday afternoon."

"We're showing folks in the audience what the Kansas Western Music Association is all about," he added.

The showcase will conclude so that attendees can enjoy the chuck wagon meal, then the grand finale will begin at 7 p.m.

Audience members for the afternoon showcase only need the event button, which can be purchased for $3.

The grand finale, West is Wild as Ever music performance, will cost $10.

Performers include Diamond W Wranglers, Judy Coder, 3 Trails West, Jeff Davidson and the Trail Riders, Ron's Cowboy Poetry, Ed LeValley and the Slate Creek Drovers, Brad (Doc) Hamilton, Prairie Rose Rangers, Roger Ringer and Peggy Coleman, and and Ashton Burel.

"We are looking forward to the show and entertaining and visiting with the people that will be there," said Davidson. "We're also looking forward to being in Wellington. It's a great ol' Chisholm Trail town and we hope to enhance the history of Wellington."

Davidson added, "On a personal note, I appreciate that Wellington is doing this and that they're celebrating the history that we have in Kansas."
