These past few days have made it feel like we may skip spring entirely and just launch straight into summer. Unfortunately, the rest of the week will give you other ideas. The cold front that has been working its way toward us will arrive in our area today, initially bringing a chance for some stormy weather.
A few strong storms could develop this afternoon, primarily southeast of the Turnpike, with nickel sized hail as the primary threat. Accompanying this system, however, will be a steady drop in our temperatures. Beginning around mid-afternoon we will see a steady decline, with temps finally bottoming out in the mid-30’s by dawn on Thursday.
On a positive note, we actually have precipitation chances in our forecast every day between now and Tuesday (which is a good thing considering we’re still a long way from being caught up on our moisture). What may be harder to stomach at the beginning of May is the fact that we also have a chance of a rain/snow wintry mix on Thursday and Friday – as well as a high temp of only 39 degrees on Thursday.
Winter just doesn’t seem ready to let go…
