  • Baseball: Rose Hill sweeps Wellington

  • There were 13 innings played in Rose Hill on Wednesday, Wellington lead for only half-an-inning at the start of game two of the double-header. The Crusaders lost both games against the Rockets on May 1.
    Wellington was down by two heading into the top of the third of game one, that's when they were able to get on the board, tying the game. The contest would stay knotted at two, until the Rockets blasted four runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth. Unable to answer in the top of the seventh, Wellington picked up their eighth loss of the season. The final score was 6-2.

    Two runs in the top of the first of game two was good for an early lead, but Rose Hill was back on top scoring four runs when they got up to bat.
    Wellington followed up their two runs with five scoreless innings, before scoring one in the seventh. In-between, Rose Hill scored three runs in the bottom of the third. After the 7-3 loss, the Crusaders season record moved to 3-9.
