It wasn't an ideal day for baseball, but Wellington hosted a triangular match-up on May 4. Kansas City-Turner and Arkansas City were in town for the ball games.
Wellington played KCT to start things off. The Crusaders were playing catch-up the entire game after going down by three in the first. KCT added four runs in the top of the fourth, before Wellington got on the board with one run in the bottom of the fifth.
The score wouldn't change once it reach 7-1, Wellington's Blaine Anderson takes the loss from the mound.
Ark City took on KCT, beating the team from the North 6-2. The Bulldogs would then take on the home team to finish the day.
For the first time this season, Wellington would have the run-rule enforced against them. The Crusaders were down 4-0 headed into the top of the third when the wheels came off.
The Bulldogs crossed home-plate nine times in that half of the inning, and added one more in the top of the fourth to jump out 14-0 on WHS. One more inning was played before the game was called in favor of Ark City. Wellington had six errors in the contest, Trevor Nance, sophomore gets his first loss of the season from the mound.
