MULVANE, Kan. – The Kansas Star Arena is excited to announce country superstar Tim McGraw, and special guest Joe Nichols, will perform at the arena's grand opening concert July 7. McGraw is one of country music's top artists, selling more than 40 million albums and performing for sold-out crowds around the world.
"It's incredibly exciting to land such a big name entertainer," said Scott Cooper, Kansas Star Casino General Manager. "Our arena team has done a great job keeping construction on schedule and booking such an amazing first act."
In his record-shattering career, McGraw has dominated the charts with 33 number one singles. Since the release of his debut album in 1993, he has won three Grammys, 15 Academy of Country Music Awards, 12 Country Music Association Awards, and 10 American Music Awards. McGraw is best known for hits including "I Like It, I Love It," "Live Like You Were Dying," "Where the Green Grass Grows" and his latest hit, "Highway Don't Care."
Joe Nichols has been earning country music accolades and awards for more than a decade. He's known for a stream of hits including "Gimmie That Girl", Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" and "Brokenheartsville."
"The concert will not only showcase a couple of the greatest performers in today's country music, but also mark the opening of another phase of development at the Kansas Star Casino," adds Cooper. "With the opening of the Kansas Star Arena, we will not only be providing entertainment to south central Kansas, but drawing in guests from neighboring states as well."
The Kansas Star Arena will seat about 6,000 people for the July 7th concert.
