20130609_120525_resizedI was having a lovely sunday, the first time in two months I’d actually stopped and relaxed. The sun was shining, the birds were singing,

and the dog…

apparently…

was digging a hole…

in the mud.

dirty dog

In case you can’t tell, the white part is the dog.

LOST IN SUBURBIA BOOK NEWS:

chicago-tracy-meepersA DAY IN THE WIFE

My friend Julie writes the amazing blog, A Day in the Wife. I was so happy to see her at my Lost in Suburbia Cool Mom Book and Blow Dry Bar Party in Chicago where she got her hair done, celebrated with me, and hung out with me, the other cool moms, and our friend DJ, and his awesome dog, Meepers.

Meepers travels in his very own custom backpack which made him the coolest dog at the party (and yes, the only dog at the party, but he would have been the coolest if there were others there, too). Julie wrote a great wrap up of the party and a review of my book on her blog, HERE.

cupcakesRENEE’S PAGES

Although we were already friends online, I met Renee for the first time in person when I went to Charlotte for the Cool Mom Book and Blow Dry Bar Party in NC. Renee was able to squeeze in the party between carpooling and a night at the Queen City’s Mom Prom. I have no idea what that is, but apparently it is a must-attend soiree for the coolest moms in Charlotte.

I was thrilled Renee could join us for cupcakes and margaritas and help me celebrate my book launch. You can read her take on the party and my book on her blog, Renee’s Pages.

MOMENTUM NATION

I have known my friend Holly for a number of years now and she is the feisty, blonde version of me! She took the road I didn’t and decided to stay in the city and not move into the suburbs, so unlike me, she never lost her cool! Holly not only offered to review my book for me, but also asked me to do an interview for her blog, MOMentum Nation. You can read her post HERE.

COMING UP

I had a busy week doing speaking engagements in the area. Last sunday I was at the New Providence Library speaking and signing books for some friends and neighbors. Wednesday night I was down in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania speaking at Tiferet Bet Israel, and Friday I was in Summit, NJ speaking to the Summit Chamber of Commerce Networking Meeting for Local Professionals.

thumb.phpNext up is the National Society of Newspaper Columnists conference June 27-29 in Hartford, CT where I will be speaking on using social media to promote your work. Joining me is the amazing W. Bruce Cameron, author of the NY Times Bestsellers, “A Dog’s Purpose” and “A Dog’s Journey,” and Merry Clark, editorial director of Heloise, Inc. Moderating is Suzette Martinez Standring, author of the book, “The Art of Column Writing.” If you are a writer, blogger, columnist or aspiring author, come check it out!

Have a great week!
