A home in one of Caldwell's residential neighborhoods caught fire early Wednesday morning.
An early morning house fire in Sumner County has left one person dead.
The incident took place between 2:30 a.m. an 2:40 a.m., said Caldwell's fire chief, Pat York. The one story house is located at 19 W. 2nd Street, in Caldwell.
"The house was fully involved upon arrival," York said. "We have two people with burn injuries from the fire, and one fatality," Authorities are not releasing much more info than that at this point in the investigation. The residential home was approximately 1,000 sq. ft. in size. The cause of the fire is still being determined.
"It's still under investigation with the Kansas State Fire Marshall's Office," York said.
