Hello everyone! My name is Audrey, I'm coming to you from good ol' Dodge City, Kansas. As a summer intern at the Convention and Visitors Bureau, I'll be keeping you updated and entertained on all that's happenin in the Cowboy Capital!

A little about me: I was born and raised in Western, Kansas. I'm currently a student at Fort Hays State University but have packed up for the summer and got the HECK into Dodge. I will spend the next few months reliving the legends of the old West!

I'ts been a great experience so far, as I am spending my first week playing tourist!

And remember folks...keep calm and cowboy on!!!

Well I was bound and determined after last week to get back in the swing of things and do more than one post...but that didn't happen. I received word on Wednesday morning that I lost someone very dear to me. I was gone from Wednesday to Sunday and couldn't even begin to focus long enough to write a post. Hogie was such an outstanding man! I know he is at peace now, enjoying a crown and coke Heaven.

Lets recap over some of the good that occurred last week. It was the Fourth of July, I hope all of you had a safe and happy holiday! I was really looking forward to attending all of the festivities in Dodge during the week. I heard that the Old Fashioned Fourth of July at Boot Hill was a great time, as well as the World of Outlaws Boot Hill Showdown! Congratulations to the defending series champion Donny Schatz! While I heard the fireworks display in Dodge was one of the best to date, I got a few good shots of the show in Tribune. Overall it was a quiet holiday for me, but nice being close to the ones I love.

Friday was my birthday! I got to celebrate with one of my best friends, Morgan. She left the kids at home and we got to enjoy a few drinks and reminisce about old times! (Kind of makes me feel old...and 22 is far from it!) My parents skipped the present and gave me cash for my birthday, so this week I'm headed to Out West to get a new pair of boots. Mine are looking pretty rough so I'm excited to see what I can find! They've got a great selection of western apparel, so get the heck into Dodge and check it out.

And remember folks...If the boot fits, buy it in every color!
