Hazel Charlene Lynch of Wellington, Kansas passed away Thursday, August 1, at Midland Hospice in Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 77. She was a retired secretary for McConnell Airforce Base in Wichita, Kansas.
Charlene was born the daughter of Charley and Leta Akers on November 30, 1935 in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
On October 22, 1957, she was united in marriage with John Lynch in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 54 years of marriage, before his death in June of 2011.
She leaves behind 6 children and their families: Scott and Karen Lynch and their children Ryan and Erin of Phoenix, Arizona; Nikki and Rick Heck and their children Brandon, Lauren and Cameron of Olathe, Kansas; Mikael Lynch and Danny Cline and their children Manda Lynch and D.J. and Derek Cline of Wellington, Kansas; Sheradan and Randy Steffen and their children Chandler and Garrith Whaley and Rhea and Raef Steffen of LaVista, Nebraska; Landee Lynch and Jackie Williams of Topeka, Kansas; and Remi Lynch of Knoxville, Tennessee.
She also leaves behind a sister Maxcine Bussey of Ponca City, Oklahoma and a brother Gary Akers of Dodge City, Kansas.
She is preceded in death by her father Charley Akers, her mother Leta Akers and her husband John Lynch.
Charlene is loved and will be missed by her family.
A graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
