Edgar Ervin Berger, 81, of Phoenix, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his residence in Phoenix, Arizona. Edgar was born in Wellington, Kansas on February 5, 1932 to the late Ervin and Mary (Daley) Berger. Edgar was always proud to say he had many careers over his lifetime and these included Husband, Father, Grandfather, Army veteran, farmer, photographer, machinist, police officer and then he finished his working career as a Surveyor Party Chief for the Maricopa County Highway Engineering Department in Arizona.
On December 5, 1954 Edgar married Donna Nuss in Wellington, KS where they lived until 1969; they moved to Phoenix, Arizona at that time. Edgar is survived by his loving spouse of 58 years, Donna; 4 Children - Edra (Dan) Roberts of Hillsboro, Oregon, Kevin (Lisa) Berger of Albuquerque, NM, Rhonda (Jerry) Freeman of Gilbert, AZ and Shannon Berger of Phoenix, AZ; 4 Grandchildren - Michelle Roberts, Laurie (Edwin) Sparks, Erica Berger; and Jason Berger; and 2 Sisters - Rosella Blumenshine and Glenda Light both of Clearwater, KS. Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Albright United Methodist Church, 2242 E. Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, with Pastor Tracy Perry officiating.
