The team lost to top ranked McPherson 25-11, 25-7. The Lady Crusaders then beat Augusta 25-17, 20-25, 25-21.  Below are coach Cherity Elder's comments.
The girls came out and played pretty well against number one ranked McPherson.  The girls had a very optimistic attitude going into the match and came out and played really hard.
McPherson's six footers made it very difficult to work the net.  However, our girls did a really good job of getting to balls and swinging for hard hits.
The girls did a really good job of coming out from the beginning against Augusta.
One thing that I was amazed with was the crowd and student section.  We had great fan support, which was amazing to see.  It makes it so much easier to perform when there are people there watching.  Augusta came back in the second game and defeated the Crusaders, but the Crusaders bounced back and finished them off in the final game.  This takes the girls to 5-5 on the season.  I am very excited with the way the girls played.
They did a lot of great things.  The girls had great poise and control when playing under pressure.  To finish a match with a win is such a great feeling.  I'm proud of the girls and the way they played consistent and with high energy.  Kaity Ledbetter and Abby Goodrum came up with some big plays in the Augusta matches, which kept the momentum in our favor.  It was a good evening of Crusader Volleyball!
