Connect2Compete (C2C) is a national non-profit program that seeks to eliminate the digital disadvantages of growing up poor. It helps make high-speed Internet and computers affordable for low income families - including low income seniors, students, parents, and veterans.

It helps by connecting low income individuals and households with:

• low-cost computers

• low cost high-speed Internet

• free Digital Literacy training (basic computer training)

DISCOUNTED HIGH-SPEED INTERNET

In the 67042 zip code area, Cox provides fast, affordable Internet for only $9.95/month (plus tax).

Eligible households can get Internet at home today.  • No deposit required. • No contract to sign.• No installation or modem rental fees.• Price guaranteed for 2 years.

Eligible households include those that have:

1. at least one child eligible for free lunches through the National School Lunch Program.

2. not subscribed to Cox Internet service within the past 90 days.

3. no outstanding bills or unreturned equipment with Cox.

In addition, over 14,000 zip codes are pre-qualified for low cost offers based on median community income of $35,000 or below. Although 67042 is not one of them, other zip codes in Kansas are.

To learn if you’re eligible:

• visit Connect2Compete.org/Cox, or

• call 1-855-222-3252

LOW-COST COMPUTERS

C2C helps connect low income households with refurbished computers for $150. You may choose to purchase the computer or the Internet, or to purchase both…it's your choice.

You are eligible if you:

• have a child participating in the National School Lunch Program, or

• live in one of 14,000 pre-qualified* zip codes (note: 67042 is not one of them).

In addition, other greatly discounted equipment includes a printer, a web camera, a mouse, and a router (which allows multiple devices to connect to an existing Internet line). These products are available to everyone regardless of Connect2Compete eligibility. Learn more about these products by clicking here.

FREE DIGITAL LITERACY TRAINING

Whether you're interested in learning how to Skype with family, search for a job, or start using a mouse and keyboard, Connect2Compete has the best collection of places to find free computer access and training.

The training site closest to El Dorado is Ford Rockwell, 5939 E. 9th Street, Wichita, KS 67208 (phone: 316-688-9361). Other sites are listed on the EveryoneOn.org website.
