The latest projections from the National Weather Service show this weekend's rains sliding through the area a little faster than originally forecasted. While the thinking had been that rain could linger in Butler County through about 1 p.m. on Saturday, the latest outlook has the bulk of the precip clearing us before lunchtime. Showers are expected to begin during the overnight/early morning hours, peaking around sunrise. Forecasters still don't anticipate any severe weather, though we could hear some rumbles of thunder. Additionally, since the system will be moving at a pretty good clip, that should limit the potential for a heavy rainfall event.
All this spells much better news for the weekend's festivals and events… be sure to check the forecast before heading out in the morning, in case anything changes, but hopefully that umbrella won't need to stay up for long!
