According to a report from the U.N. International Panel on Climate Change, scientists are 95 percent certain that humans are to blame for global warming. And, these scientists say, the Earth IS getting hotter, and the seas are rising. More than 800 authors from dozens of countries took part in the report.
The big movies opening today are “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2,” an animated PG sequel; “Rush,” an R biopic about James Hunt and Niki Lauda; “Baggage Claim,” a PG-13 comedy starring Paula Patton (who Robin Thicke is married to!), Taye Diggs and Jill Scott; and “Don Jon,” an R comedy directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and starring himself, Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore and Tony Danza.
A zoo in England is banning animal-print clothing in the park. Chessington World of Adventures recently opened a safari-type exhibit that puts humans in close contact with animals, and officials noticed that the animals get agitated, confused or worse when they see humans wearing leopard print, zebra stripes and the like.
Gasbuddy.com reports that the lowest state average price of gas is in South Carolina ($3.087), and the highest is in Hawaii ($4.247).
