Dale Lee McAfee, age 83, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. He was born Dec. 6, 1929, in South Haven, the son of Charles and Margaret (Summerfield) McAfee.
Dale served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. He was a member of the Pratt Church of Christ and B.P.O. E. Elks Lodge No. 1451 in Pratt.
On Dec. 11, 1949, he married Joyce L. Case in Wellington. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Susan (Randy) Teske and Lisa (Jim) Bergner, all of Pratt; a son, Kurt (Connie) McAfee of Wichita; four grandchildren, Alison and Carson McAfee, Jamie and Brent Bergner; a sister, Hazel Busch of Conway Springs, and a sister-in-law, Frances McAfee of Wellington.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene and Albert McAfee and a sister, Dorothy Straight.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 Monday, at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Pratt Church of Christ with Steve Triplett presiding. Burial with military honors will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
Memorials can be made to Hilltop Manor Alzheimer's Unit or Church of Christ Scholarship Fund in care of the mortuary.
