  • Utility workers repair electrical lines Tuesday morning, after a vehicle ran into a power pole on Woodlawn, near the entrance to Kennedy Elementary School just after 8 a.m.
According to police reports, it was a 1991 Honda, driven by a 18-year-old Wellington man, that hit a utility poll on the westside of Woodlawn (500 block), causing a power outage for eastside Wellington residents.
The driver was examined at the scene by Wellington EMS and refused medical attention. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Sumner County jail on Driving While Impaired charges, drug related. City Electric Dept crews were on scene with power being restored within a short amount of time with only a slight disruption in service.
According to the police blotter the driver was Tremain D. Gingerich, 18, Wellington.
