  • A gray, drizzly day is in store for us as scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to linger over the area. Rain chances should peak around mid-day, but the potential for precipitation will continue on into the overnight hours.
In a change from earlier forecasts, however, the strong-to-severe thunderstorms that were originally forecasted to pass through south central Kansas are no longer on track to visit us today. Meteorologists now expect that activity to stay in central Kansas, west of a Hutchinson to Salina line, and track to the northeast.
Accompanying our rain showers will be gusty winds and cooler temps. Expect sustained south winds around 18 mph with gusts up to 26 mph today, being replaced tomorrow by northerly winds around 20 with gusts close to 30 mph.
Highs throughout the week will feel much more like autumn, staying in the 60-65 degree range, with overnight lows settling in around 40 degrees.
