Scripture: Acts (NIV) 20:33 I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.
34 You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions.
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Observation: Paul is giving a farewell message to the leaders of the church of Ephesus. While he had been with them, he had worked as a tent maker to support himself and give to others. He did not just work to survive; he worked to give. It is good when this important truth can be seen in the lives of church leaders.
Application: Many times I have been blest to receive, but it really is a greater blessing to give!
Prayer: Lord, you are the greatest giver and you are working to make a giver out of me. I’m glad! Amen
Making friends for time and eternity!
