Lois V. Moore, 86, of Rosalia, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 at Vintage Place, El Dorado. A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Star Cemetery, Piedmont, Kan. A visitation with the family present will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1927, in Benton, the daughter of Theodore and Edith (Phares) Bachelder. She graduated from High School in Whitewater, and on Nov. 30, 1946, she was married to Alva D. Moore. Lois was a rancher and sold real estate for 40 years. Lois loved her family, the land, livestock and helping others. She enjoyed being on the go selling land, cheering on her grandchildren at school sports and going to rodeos. She was the heart of her family with a sharp, witty, loving and giving personality.
Those she leaves are her children and their spouses, Alan and Kathy Moore, Ava and Don Wedel, Annette Brenton, and Tom and Faye Moore; a sister, Betty Mosiman; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Valetta Austin; one brother, Melvin Bachelder; and a sister, Eunice Schwemmer.
