  • Ladesma places sixth at cross country regional, headed for state

  • Jaedyn Ledesma placed sixth at the Class 4A regional in El Dorado Saturday, which qualifies her for the state meet next weekend in Wamego.

  • Jaedyn Ledesma placed sixth at the Class 4A regional in El Dorado Saturday, which qualifies her for the state meet next weekend in Wamego. Her time of 15.53 set a new school record, which broke a record set by her older sister, J’Lynn, in 2006.
    The girls team placed ninth with 213 points.
    On the boys side, Brent Williams was the top finisher for Wellington at 19.12.
    The cross country teams won a total of 50 medals this season.

    Six members of the girls team posted times this year that have them in the all time top 10 for Wellington High School.
    Ladesma is first with her school record, Lauren Scheufler is now fourth and Joe Treadway is ninth. Others are Leah Nelson (5), Cabrell Roe  (6) and Baylee DeJarnett at 10.
