Conway Springs 35, Douglass 8
Conway Springs just keeps rolling. The Cardinals steamrolled Douglass, 35-8, Thursday to win the district title.
Conway Springs (9-0) will host Wichita Independent (4-5) Tuesday. The Cardinals defeated Independent 64-6 on Sept. 20. The winner of that game will host the winner between Kingman (6-2) and Halstead (5-4) next Saturday, Nov. 9.
Conway Springs rolled up 416 yards rushing, to 138 for Douglass.
Travis Wood ran 19 times for 145 yards and three touchdowns. Dakota Finstad ran 10 times for 110 yards and one score. Luke Fisher ran 13 times for 96 yards and one score.
Defensively Jacob Koch had two interceptions for the Cardinals. Fisher led the defense with 8.5 tackles, and Alec Stanley had 7.5.
South Haven 50, Burden 0
South Haven scored early and often, and finished a game with Central Burden early in the third quarter, taking a 50-0 win in the last game of the regular season.
South Haven travels to Melvern-Marias Des Cygnes Valley Tuesday in the first round of the playoffs.
South Haven had 255 yards of offense, to 46 for Burden.
South Haven played a lot of different athletes. J.T. Yunker ran seven times for 56 yards and three touchdowns. Nick Ingram ran 10 times for 65 yards. Alex Nicholson ran 10 times for 41 yards and scored twice. Braydyn Wilkey also scored a rushing touchdown for the Cardinals.
Also for South Haven, Anthony Hawkins completed two of three passes for 32 yards and one touchdown.. Trevon Creed caught a touchdown pass.
Central Burden attempted only two passes, and both were intercepted by the South Haven defense. Lucas Harris and Zach Pounds got one each.
Caldwell 23, Norwich 14
Caldwell finished its season Thursday on a positive note with a 32-14 win over Norwich. Caldwell outscored Norwich 18-8 in the second quarter.
Colten Ward completed 11 of 19 passes for 111 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Rhett Lee completed the only pass he threw, for 39 yards.
Caldwell managed 251 yards rushing. Ward had 115 yards on 25 carries. Kellen Schmidt had 94 yards on 12 carries and scored once.
Sam Wencil caught fie passes for 79 yards and three touchdowns, for Caldwell.
Caldwell's defense picked off six passes. Rhett Lee and Dilyn Lee each had two. Ward and Kyler Bruey each had one.
Caldwell had 401 yards of total offense, to 159 for Norwich.
