The Momentum Movement announced Monday night that it has completed its first project.
The movement is a small group of Wellington High School students that are raising money for various projects. Their first project was to pay for a cancer victim to swim with dolphins in San Antonio.
Jaedyn Ledesma and Houston Sober are heading up the small group that presented a $1,500 check to the cancer patient.
Ledesma and Sober said they heard of the woman, and, that one item on her bucket list was to swim with dolphins. They decided to try to do something to make that happen and have been having various fundraisers throughout the year.
"Every little bit helps," Sober said.
They want the community to realize little things like small donations, all taken together, can make big tings happen.
Donation cans set up at the Wellington Golf Course, the Dore, El Chile, The Gold Corner, and Big Cheese.
They are also selling t-shirts that say "Momentum Movement."
"We plan to be the change we want to see in the world," is also on the t-shirt.
They are also planning a 5K race as a fundraiser but a date has not been set.
The students plan to continue to raise money for good causes now that their first mission has been accomplished.
