  • Another unseasonably warm day is in store today (after we clear away the pea-soup fog that has enveloped the county). H
ighs are once again forecasted to pass the 60-degree mark under partly sunny skies. Tomorrow will be pleasant, but a little cooler (mid-50’s)… and then that will be the end of the warm weather for a while!
Temperatures will take a dive overnight Tuesday night as a wave of artic air moves into the region. Highs on Wednesday won’t escape the 30’s, and Thursday’s highs will hover in the frosty 20’s with windchills in the teens.  During the overnight hours from Thursday through the weekend, windchills are predicted to drop even lower, approaching zero degrees at times.
For those of you who look forward to the white stuff, you’ll be happy to hear that snow chances will enter our forecast beginning Wednesday night. Light snow is expected through Friday, with some accumulations possible across southern Kansas (no estimates yet on how much accumulation).
