Live United McPherson County

United Way of McPherson County is working to build a stronger community by addressing issues related to health, education and income. We believe conversations and intensive listening are the best ways to understand the real problems and move beyond short-term solutions. Community change can be accomplished through broad participation and collaboration. We encourage McPherson County residents to be involved with their community through giving, advocating and volunteering. By working together we can make a larger impact on the issues at hand.

'Tis the season for cookies, cookies and more cookies! My children are involved in school and church activities, and it seems when the holidays arrive there are many parties and events that require treats. I've learned to bake a variety of cookies and stash them in the freezer in early December. Then when my daughter announces (on the day of the event) that she needs to bring two dozen cookies, I dash to the freezer and pull out what I need! Be prepared to spend an evening or Sunday afternoon baking, but then relish the moments when you can provide a quick, homemade treat. Our favorite holiday cookies include chocolate peppermint, snicker doodles and gingerbread men.
