Scripture: 1Peter (NIV) 2:12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1Peter (NIV) 3:16 …so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.
Observation: It is not God’s will for us to lower ourselves to the comments and accusations of others, but to rise above them. He does not want us to get even, but to rise above by forgiving, and living in such a way that will make it hard for others to believe what is said.
Application: My goal should be that when someone talks trash about me, they will have trouble finding people to believe them.
Prayer: Lord, you are the best example of these verses. I want to be like you! Amen
