A Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect at midnight tonight and continue until 11:00 Thursday morning. After hitting a high of just over 40 degrees today, our temperatures are going to plummet into the bone-chilling single digits. By dawn tomorrow morning, our temps will be around 6 degrees with wind chills as low as 15 below zero. North winds will howl overnight, sustained in the low-to-mid 20-mph range, with gusts as high as 35 mph possible. Our daytime "warm up" on Thursday will only get us into the teens before sinking back into the realm of negative wind chills (temps around 9 and wind chills close to -6). Fortunately, a rebound is in our forecast for the weekend! Friday will top out in the low-to-mid 40s, and Saturday and Sunday are predicted to bring temps in the 50s. As a side note, Friday's thaw will be accompanied by another round of gusty Kansas winds, which will be bump our Grassland Fire Danger back up into the Very High range.
