Willie Taylor, 90, of Oxford, KS, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, KS. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Oxford Funeral Service. Willie Ray Taylor was born October 31, 1923 the son of Lemuel and Lula Mae (Bryant) Taylor in Kanima, OK. He was raised in Arkansas and served his country in the US Army. Willie was united in marriage in 1974 to Barbara Sue Davidson. He was a sheet metal worker for Boeing for 35 years retiring in 1987. He enjoyed playing with his pug dog, Thunder, traveling and watching baseball. His hobbies included: dancing, singing and playing his guitar. The most important thing to him was spending time with his grandkids.
Willie is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, sons, Lanny Taylor and his wife Patsy of Wellington, KS, Kalin Taylor of Arkansas City, KS, step-sons, Bobby Knowles and his wife Judi of Enid, OK, Billy Knowles, Bruce Knowles and his wife Tina of Mobile, AL, and Brian Knowles and his wife Lori of Oxford, KS; 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Shirley Taylor of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
