    Neva A. Quillin, of South Haven, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas, at the age of 97 years and exactly 11 months.
    Neva was born the daughter of Andrew W. and Carrie T. (Brann) Milligan on Sunday, March 26, 1916, on the family farm near South Haven, Kansas.
    On July 22, 1939, Neva and Neil Quillin were united in marriage at the Methodist Church parsonage in South Haven, Kansas. Together they celebrated almost 15 years of marriage.
    Neva was a school teacher for over 30 years. She first taught at the Lonestar and Falls Center rural schools. Neva then pursued a college degree while teaching in the Geuda Springs and Wellington school districts. Following her graduation from Southwestern College in 1963, she taught for almost 20 years in Belle Plaine. In addition to teaching, Neva and her family farmed their land for many years.
    Neva enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Caldwell Golf Club and the Wellington Women’s Golf Club. Following retirement, she spent her time volunteering as a Pink Lady for the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. She also volunteered for many years on the South Haven Cemetery Board for the Goodel and Rose Hill Cemeteries.
    Survivors include her son, Jim Quillin and his wife Linda of Caldwell, Kansas, daughter, Pat Moreland and her husband Jimmie of Braman, Oklahoma, son, Mike Quillin and his wife Bev of Hutchinson, Kansas, son, Steve Quillin and his wife Nancy of Edmond, Oklahoma, brother, Clyde Milligan and his wife Shirley of Littleton, Colorado, sister, Fleeta Milligan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, sister-in-law, Bonnie Quillin of South Haven, Kansas, grandchildren Jennifer Quillin, Nannette Blaylock, Suzanne Bacon, Leanne Resendez, JJ Quillin, John Schmidt, Mike Schmidt, Daniel Schmidt, Randy Schmidt, Mary Kay Moreland Jenks, Matt Moreland, Marcus Moreland, Christin Hockersmith, Ty Quillin, Scott Quillin, Carrie Baker, Seth Quillin, 41 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Carrie Milligan, husband Neil Quillin, brothers Leonard, Dale, and Neil Milligan, sisters-in-law Jeane and Nita Milligan, brother-in-law Burl Quillin, daughter-in-law, Carrolee Quillin, and an infant sister, Freida Milligan.
    Funeral services for Neva will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the South Haven United Methodist Church, South Haven, Kansas.
    Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery, South Haven, Kansas.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in her loving memory with the South Haven United Methodist Church or South Haven School District #509. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
