  • Local fire officials say a fire at about 4 a.m. in Wellington Thursday was intentionally set.
Firemen arrived at 518 N. Blaine Street in Wellington at 3:39 a.m. and found the small one-story home on fire, with flames coming through the roof.
As firefighters were in the house the roof started to collapse, so they went outside until a larger portion of the fire was extinguished from the outside.
The occupant was not home at the time.
In a press release, Wellington Fire Chief Tim Day said the fire appears to have been intentionally set, and the investigation continues.
There were three engines, one aerial truck, two administrative trucks and one ambulance that answered the call, with a total of 15 personnel.
