Mona Sue (Nally) Carthel
Mona Sue (Nally) Carthel, of Wellington, Kansas, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Galichia Heart Hospital in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 63.
Mona was born the daughter of Howard R. and Anna Marie (Fishburn) Nally on Sunday, December 31, 1950 in Fredonia, Kansas.
Mona made many friends over the years from her time spent as a short order cook at The Village and The South Haven Cafe in South Haven, Kansas. She also worked at Rotten Rodney's Awful Waffle Shop, The Scotsman and The Homestead in Wellington, Kansas. She later worked as a pilot car driver, a sales rep in the cell phone industry and as the property manager for Shady Lane Apartments.
Survivors include her loving son, Troy Rebold and his wife Jeanette of Wellington, Kansas, grandchildren: Elijah James, Esther LaDawn, Ezekiel Jack and Elizabeth Lee, two brothers: Bobby Nally, Leroy Nally and his wife Kathy, a sister Dorothy Harp and her husband Stanley along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews whom she treasured.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven of her brothers and sisters. Mona was the youngest of eleven children and loved her family dearly.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services for Mona will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 in First Assembly of God Church, Wellington, Kansas
Interment (Graveside Services) will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, Kansas.
Mona was proud of her son and grandchildren’s involvement with their youth group. A memorial fund has been established in her loving memory with the First Assembly of God - Youth Group, 326 West Botkin, Wellington, Kansas 67152. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
