"Elvis" made a guest appearance in Wellington Thursday to promote his concert set for May 10.

Elvis made a special appearance in Wellington Thursday at the chamber of commerce coffee meeting.

He was here to promote his "Concert for a Cause," that is set for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 10 at Memorial Auditorium in Wellington.

The concert will benefit Safe Homes, a group that provides shelter for battered women and children.

Marshall Mathews of Caldwell is Elvis. He will bring his band, the Memphis Kings, who are a group of Wichita area musicians, for his concert. The concert will be very much like concerts the King of Rock and Roll gave in the early 70s.

The opening act will be Debbie Cay from Caldwell, and local painist Mason Lough will perform at intermission.

Tickets are available at the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, 207 S. Washington, or by calling 620-326-7466.
