  • Tying the highest Division I finish in the history of the program, the Cowley College women’s tennis team placed fourth at the NJCAA Division I National Tennis Championships held in Tyler, Texas.
The fourth place national finish ties the accomplishments of the 2007 and 2010 teams.
Erianne Adams of Wellington played at No. 2 doubles, and made it to the semis, and at No. 5 singles, where she reached the quarterfinals.

“The girls did a great job and got better all year,” Cowley head coach Josh Cobble said.
Heading into the final day of the tournament, Tyler Junior College is in first place with 44 team points, while ASA College is second with 41 points. Georgia Perimeter College is third with 32 points and Cowley (25 points) finished a half point in front of Collin College for fourth place.
On Wednesday, Cowley’s final two doubles teams suffered semifinal defeats. However, freshman Lauryn Sullins was able to win the consolation finals at No. 6 singles.
Sophomore Sarah Giraldo lost in the consolation finals of No. 2 singles on Wednesday. Giraldo, Ana Ruzir and Erianne Adams played their final matches for the Lady Tigers.
“Those sophomores were the heart of this year’s team,” Cobble said. “They will move on to do great things and will definitely be missed.
Along with Sullins, Cowley will return Hannah Brown, Shali Schoepflin, and Mollie Slovacek.
