Dick, Jack Albert, 80, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014.  He was born March 16, 1934 to Florence Emil and Phoebe Jane (Beard) Dick in Brownwood, TX.  Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War.  
He worked for BNSF for 43 years as a locomotive engineer and a certified engineer instructor.  Jack was a faithful member of the Belle Plaine First Baptist Church and a longtime Mason.  Jack was a loving, sincere, and loyal father and friend.
 Jack’s faith and family were most important to him.  His wittiness and sense of humor was loved by many.  
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Valta Marie Dick; infant-son, Steven Emil Dick; siblings, Wanda Maxine Dill, Marvel Arlene Sheets, Daryl Guy Dick, and Buddy Emil Dick.  Jack is survived by his children, Jeffrey Dick and Judith (Jerry) Woolf; grandchildren, Justin Dick, Devin Dick, and Taylor Woolf; and a large extended family.  
Visitation: Tuesday, 1 to 8 pm at Hatfield-Smith Funeral Home, 219 West 2nd, Belle Plaine, KS 67013.  Funeral: 10 am, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at First Baptist Church, 612 N. Linden, Belle Plaine, KS 67013.  Interment to follow at Belle Plaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church.
