One resignation was accepted, and eight contracts were extended during a special USD 353 Board of Education meeting on Monday night.
Just over a minute into the meeting, the BOE entered into a one hour executive session, followed by two 45 minute executive sessions.
After the hour the hour and 35 minutes was up, the Board entered back into open session, moments later the motions were made.
"I would motion that we accept the resignation of Joe Jacobs, effective at the end of his contract, at the end of June 2012," said Board Memeber, Angie Ratcliff. the motion was seconded by BOE member, David Peck and then was passed unanimously
"I would also motion that we extend the contract for two years for the following administrators," Ratcliff added. "Rick Weiss, Lorry Roth, Jackie Glasgow, Jerry Hodson, Jamie Ybarra, Adam Hatfield, Kelly Adams, and John Walton." Again passed unanimously after being seconded by Peck. The meeting was then adjourned at approximately 8:40 p.m.
A crowed of around 30 people were on hand waiting to hear what the board had to say, but they didn't hear much, as there was no discussion before the motions were made, or after they were passed.
The Boards move tonight leaves the high school without a principal, since accepting Dale Liston's resignation during the regular Feb. Board meeting; and an assistant principal now that Jacobs is not returning.
Other district buildings administrators were locked in for two more years. Weiss, is the district's Superintendent, Glasgow is the Assistant Superintendent, and Larry Roth is the Finance Director, and Assistant Director of Special Education. Hodson is the Wellington Middle School (WMS) principal, Ybarra is the WMS Assistant principal. Adams is the principal at Eisenhower Elementary, Hatfield is the principal at Kennedy, and Walton is the principal at Lincoln and Washington Elementary Schools.
