“That’s my son starting,” I said to the teenager standing in front of me. We were both waiting for our turns to jump into the pool and start Derby’s triathlon. And while most triathlons start in lakes and with many people at one time, this one begins in a pool and racers take off one at a time. And the boy asked if we did many of these races. I said yes we did and that we had just done a half ironman 2 weeks ago. He was not familiar with the distances of that race and as I told him, his eyes kept getting bigger...
